      DFW-Dallas ED Best Practices Summit

      Impact DataSource is hitting the road! Join us at one of our planned regional best practices summits this spring. Nicole D'Souza will host a live, interactive session of Economic Development Secrets with economic developers from the surrounding area. Paul Scheuren will lead a Q&A session where he’ll share some of the things we have learned while helping communities evaluate unique economic development projects. Board members are welcome to attend. Admission is free and lunch will be provided. Y'all come! This event will take place at the Toyota Board Room at the Dallas Regional Chamber 500 North Akard Street, #2600, Dallas 75201). Be sure to keep your parking tickets - we'll validate them for you.  Ross Tower is conveniently located in downtown Dallas at San Jacinto and North Akard. Please be aware that the front entrance of Ross Tower is under construction, and the only external door available is the Patterson Street entrance, or you may use the sky bridge (Spurgeon Harris Garage) or tunnel access (Ross Tower Garage) from the parking garages. After parking, enter the lobby and take the elevator bank for floor 26. You will be greeted upon arrival on floor 26 by a DRC team member. Additionally, Ross Tower is easily accessible by DART; the Akard Street Station is a few blocks south of the building. To find your DART schedule, please visit DART Program Agenda 11:00 AM – Arrival & Networking Introductions 11:10 AM – Welcome & Panel Discussion Lead by Nicole D’Souza Economic Development Operations: Who, What When, How, and Why A panel of your peers will share their tricks of the trade and open a discussion on economic development best practices. From ED operations, to building incentive packages, to presenting projects to your council and board, these economic developers will share what they’ve found works through their experience in the field. Let someone else's experience be your teacher. 12:10 PM – Intermission & Lunch Provided 12:20 PM – Discussion Lead by Paul Scheuren, Economist, Impact DataSource Big Data vs. Your Data Collecting data from prospective and existing businesses can be a challenge. We'll touch on what pieces of information to collect, how best to actually obtain it from a prospect, what you can do with it, and why it is so vital to retain this data over time. 1:00 PM – Closing Remarks
