Conventional & Implant Supported Removable Partial Dentures Course Summary: In this course the removable partial denture design will  be reviewed. Patient’s expectations based on the difficulty level of the individual case will be discussed, as  well as how best to  set patients’ expectations to a reasonable level.  Items to review  before treatment planning these cases will be reviewed, such as existing and previous restorations, crown length, and crown to root ratio of the remaining teeth.  We will  discuss where to best place implants to be incorporated into a removable partial denture, both to increase function and aesthetics of the final prosthesis.  When to  restore teeth with implant supported fixed prosthesis versus implant supported removable partial dentures will also be covered. We will look at cases of patients with naturally worn dentition and how to use removable partial dentures to increase vertical dimension and centric occlusion not only to replace the missing teeth but  also to protect the remaining natural dentition.
